Daniel Kanter
Principal
Daniel L. Kanter has over thirty years of experience working with business owners, professionals and high net-worth individuals. As a principal of his family's 3rd generation financial services firm, Dan specializes in values-based estate planning strategies, charitable planned gift design, retirement planning, and business succession planning.
Dan has been a featured speaker for various professional and community organizations on estate and retirement planning concepts, as well as charitable planning strategies. He has been a featured presenter to the Michigan Association of CPAs on several occasions. Dan has mentored dozens of up & coming insurance and financial advisors over the years. Prior to joining the family firm, Dan worked extensively in television and theater production, as well as arts management in New York City and Detroit.
Arts & Culture, Education and Senior Care have been key interests of Dan through the years. A past-Chairman and an Emeritus Member of the advisory board to Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing & Communication Arts, Dan continues his active leadership in support of the college. Additionally, he served as Chairman of the Oakland County Advisory Board of Evangelical Homes of Michigan (now called EHM Senior Services), He also served over ten years on the National Alumni Board of the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
Dan graduated from the University of Michigan and is the proud father of his daughter Hannah. He enjoys performing Improv Comedy, acting and spends warm-weather evenings bicycling after work. He lives with his partner Elizabeth Chilton in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan.
